Dress your Spirit

I’ve come to realise that I’m neurodivergent.

Audhd to be precise.

I’m about to get assessed properly soon so I’ll let you know how that goes.

It’s struck me that all of the choices I make when it comes to personal style are fuelled by my sensory needs. I need to “ feed” my hungry eyes so bright colours ( especially neon and fire tones) and iridescence and sparkle are key ingredients. Bold, often clashing patterns and textures that make my eyes excited are my favourite choices, certainly beige is not a colour I’d choose! This makes perfect sense why I gravitate to using Ankara, African prints as well as my connection to the Motherland. ( more about that in my book later)

Fabric choices are important too, natural , breathable fibres like 100% cotton I use to make my robes. Fabric must feel good next to my skin. My personal style is basically glamorous nightwear . Pajamas, dressing gown and slippers : loose dress over wide pants , with kimono and crocs.

Practicality is also important, like the massive pockets I always include on my kimonos . I have no need for annoying extra handbags, I can fit everything I could possibly need in my pockets!

As a neurodivergent artist myself, my work often speaks directly to fellow neurodivergent people. My wearable art — robes, kimonos, original dresses a nd neckpieces are made to hold space for identity, comfort, and self-expression.

Based in London, I welcome collaborations and commissions, so you can create something that feels truly yours.

Do you have hungry eyes too?
